"But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may proclaim the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light."

1. Once in Christ, what should we strip ourselves of and how much should we desire the word of God (2:1-3)? What is the purpose of this?

2. By believing in Christ, what do we become towards the world and towards God (4:5a)? For what purpose did God make us like this (5b)?

3. What kind of stone is Jesus that Scripture prophesied (6a)? What blessing is given to those who believe in him (6b)? And to those who don't believe in him (7, 8)?

4. What new identity and blessing do those who believe in and obey Jesus Christ acquire (9a)? For what purpose has God given them all these privileges (9b,10)?
