1. Read verse 1. What does this suggest about the disciples' state of mind? Why were they so?

2. Read 1b again. What is the secret of freedom from anxiety? Read verses 2-4. What does he mean by "the Father's house"? (Mk 1:15)

3. Think about the hope of Abraham (Heb 11:10), Paul (2Co 5:1), and Peter (1Pe 1:3,4) Why is it important to have hope in the kingdom of God in our hearts? (Lk 11:2)

4. How did Jesus establish God's house, that is, the kingdom of God? (Mk 8:31; 10:33,34) Read verses 5-7. Think about "the way" philosophically when Jesus said, "You know the way."

5. What is truth? Why is Jesus "the truth"? (Jn 8:31-32) Why is Jesus "the life"? (Jn 1:4; Jn 5:24) Read verse 6 again.

6. What did Thomas and Philip ask Jesus? (5,8) What did Jesus answer to Thomas? What did Jesus answer to Philip? How can we do God's work? (12-14)
