GIVE THANKS TO THE LORD, FOR HE IS GOOD

by   10/01/2007

Question

1. Read verses 1-4. Before his personal thanksgiving, what does the Psalmist say? Why should we give thanks to the LORD? How does the Psalmist repeat the words, “his love endures forever”? Think about each case. 2. Read verses 5-18. What are the Psalmist’s personal thanksgiving topics? What were his situations and what did God do for him at each time? What phrase is repeated? What is his personal confession of faith? How did God show his disciplining love for him? 3. Read verses 19-21. Why does the Psalmist ask to open the gates of righteousness and mention the gate of the LORD? Now what is his personal talk to God? 4. Read verses 22-27. What did the builders do with the stone? But what did the LORD do? What is the meaning of this? What is the day the LORD has made? Why should God’s people rejoice and glad? Who is he who comes in the name of the LORD? How has God made his light shine upon us? 5. Read verses 28-29. What is the Psalmist’s final talk to God? How does he end this Psalm?
