RUTH'S OBEDIENCE

by   03/17/2019   Ruth 3:1~18

Question

1. Read verses 1-4. What did Naomi tell Ruth to do? Why? What does it mean “to find a home”? (How do you think Naomi knew Boaz would be spending the night at the threshing floor?) What can we learn from Naomi who was looking out for the best interests of her daughter-in-law? Why did this task require courage and faith from Ruth? 2. Read verses 5-9. What was Ruth’s answer to Naomi? (5) What can we learn from her obedience? (6) How did she carefully follow Naomi’s instructions? What did it mean to spread the corner of your garment over someone? (9) How do you know this wasn’t a romantic gesture? 3. Read verses 10-13. What was Boaz’s reaction when he found out it was Ruth lying at his feet? What were his first words to her? How did he speak of her great kindness and noble character? (10-11) What showed that Boaz had already investigated the possibilities of redeeming Ruth? (12-13) How was he ready to act? 4. Read verses 14-15. In what sense was Boaz a man of integrity? How did he show his kindness and generosity toward Ruth once again? 5. Read verses 16-18. What was Naomi’s reaction when Ruth reported what had happened at the threshing floor? What can we learn about God who was opening a way for the two women of faith?
